Core Phase is a time of nurture and growth. A time when the focus of education should be around instilling a sense of who they are and what their values are. Kids at this age should learn what is good/bad, what is wrong/right, what good relationships are, and how to value hard work.
Ascend Scholar Academy helps foster these values in Core Phase children through through play, art, music, books and experience. Mentors cover many different topics such as animals, countries, cooking, dance, science, and so many more giving kids just a taste of each subject to help them beautifully transition into love of learning phase. An intentional Core Phase will give your children a solid foundation to build the rest of their educational experience and life on.
Specific classes are based on mentor availability and student interest. Classes will vary each year, but will always follow the same Core principles. The class offerings for the 2025-26 school year are listed below.

Children will grow their love and patriotism for the United States through songs, stories, and appreciation for the natural wonders of this great land.
Nature Study
Nature Study
In this class, children will learn to appreciate the miracle of the natural world around them through observation and exploration. Nature study is a fantastic way to build the observational skills and curiosity that will help them succeed in the sciences.
