Ascend Scholar Academy families serve together to enable parents to enrich, protect, guard, and prepare their children with the skills and abilities they need to live their unique missions with faith, wisdom, and love.
We come together to uplift, strengthen, and mentor each other through studying true principles in a project based environment with a Christian Worldview.

A Commonwealth is where homeschool families come together to teach each other's children. Each member has responsibilities and is necessary for the commonwealth to function. Commonwealths are similare to homeschool co-ops, but are generally more structured with Bylaws, Policies and procedures.
Leadership education is based on a Thomas Jefferson Education philosophy by Oliver DeMille. It is the kind of education where parents, teachers and other mentors help each individual child discover and refine their unique, innate genius. You can learn more about it here or in the video below.
Leadership Education Mentoring Institute (LEMI) teaches and inspires parents with mentoring training while also providing a continuum of classes that help children achieve a Leadership Education. Applying TJEd principles to classes such as Shakespeare, Key of Liberty, Sword and Hero, LEMI classes will help give your scholar a classical, Leadership Education through amazing books, original documents, simulations, life experiences, and amazing peers. Learn more aobut LEMI here or in the video here.
We will meet on Fridays from around 9:30-3:00 (plus clean up), starting in September. Classes run though April of the next year. We will be meeting at 13011 S Pioneer Street in Herriman for the 2024-2025 school year!
LEMI classes are only for scholar ages (around 12-18) so all of the Jr. program classes will be chosen by the moms teaching them and the Jr. Director. From time to time, we might feel the need to add an elective class for scholars if it is the right thing for our moms and their children. Any classes that are not LEMI classes will need to be approved by the board of Ascend Scholar Academy.
Homeschooling is hard! Homeschooling teens is harder! Being part of a Homeschool Commonwealth can help provide not just a solid education, but support for you and positive peer influence for your kids. As we learn and serve beside each other, we build strong bonds not just between our children, but between entire families!
LEMI training and the training we will provide through Ascend, will give you tools to become a better mentor, leader, speaker, and parent. These valuable skills will benefit you in all areas of your life and help you to fulfill your own unique mission while helping your children prepare for theirs.
For a full understanding of Ascend Scholar Academy and what your responsibilities are, please read our Bylaws and Policies and Procedures
